I resigned from my job in the Bank and headed off around the world for a year – on my own!

The trip went like this:

Dublin – Los Angeles – Fiji – Australia – Philippines – Australia – Indonesia – Singapore – Malaysia – Thailand – Laos – Vietnam – Laos – Thailand – India – Dublin.

 

Yeah – there were a few strange hops along that path. Philippines from Oz and back? And Laos twice?

Women! Yep – blame the women for those strange hops. No need to go into detail but I have always been a sucker for the female form.

It was an amazing trip and I met so many brilliant people along the way. It opened my eyes to the world and I just knew that I was born for this. I was a natural. I could find my way around any place – all I needed was a map and some brass neck. Well, I had the neck and the maps were optional at times.
