>Finally my first booking for the villa in Cha-am……so I am now based permanently in Hua Hin
I have managed to move all my stuff from Cha-am and I am pretty much established in Hua Hin now.
For sure the house isn’t as nice but it will do for the time being. My plan is to move back to Ireland in February but it may be sooner. Unfortunately my grandmother isn’t too well at the moment so I am trying to get flights home for Xmas. Ideally Nang would come with me but there isn’t enough time for her to arrange her visa.
It seems that visas have been out to get me recently. If only things were easier and all that red tape could be just brushed aside.
During the week I made a trip to Bangkok to meet up with Seanie B and watch Man United play in the European Cup. It was a very shaky start but after that they played really well and deserved to win! It was nervous for a while though. Also, it was on very late and it just isnt convenient. I had to sit through a whole pile of comedy – Steve Coogan, Lee Evans and some other crap……. Lee Evans was good but the rest was pretty useless!
Joined up with Sean and his mates for lunch the next day – great grub and a great bunch of lads. However, they definitely had much more experience in daytime drinking and I am afraid that it all got the better of me in the end. Anyway, I made it home safely and in one piece.
This is supposed to be peak season in CHa-am but there doesnt seem to be too many foreigners walking around. Sure, its more than in the low season but it is still very quiet. Hua Hin, on the other hand, is packed. Some restaurants have queues waiting outside. It really depends on what you are after but even though they are only 20 minutes apart I dont think you could find two more opposites!
You can check out http://www.orecapital.com – a website I made recently.
I have also received from feedback from readers who think I am over critical of Thailand. I dont think that is quite right. I highlight areas that I believe can be improved – my comments are not negative – more like constructive criticism.
I am also playing around with this website and hopefully you will see it improve over time. The main features that I will be adding is “content”. I will be giving advice on where to travel in THailand – and the world. Adding stories of my own and general chit-chat. Of course, once I get things going I will add a forum but thats another days work.
