Well I managed to get a 60 day visa from the Thai embassy in Vientiane, Laos…….
There were quite a few people at the embassy looking to sort out their visas. Many are applying for Non-Immigrant visas on the basis that they are working in Thailand and/or married to a Thai national or even some of them are over 50 so are entitled to a retirement visa.
However, in my case I dont meet any criteria anymore so I can only have the tourist visa. It seems that they dont want people staying a long time in THailand if they are not working. So for all you “young retirees”under the age of 50 – go somewhere else. Malaysia is offering 10 year visas however!!
I rushed back in time to play in the 2nd leg of the pool competition. We are 11-4 up after the first leg so i was confident that we would sail through this. Was I wrong! I made it in time for the last few games but I wasnt selected to play! And then when it went to the tie breaker – cause we lost 4-11 – again I wasnt allowed to play because I hadnt played in the previous games. To say the least, I was completely gutted that we lost that match- and particularly the manner of the defeat. Hats off to the Butterfly Rockers but we really shouldnt have let them back into it.
So thats the end of the pool season for us.
United take on Chelsea on Sunday. That should be a great game and I am really looking forward to it. However, after that very crappy performance at Celtic we will need to improve a lot. It was a crap match and I am only sorry that I stayed up until 5am to watch it!
Over the next few days I will be moving most of my stuff to Hua Hin. Looks like my place will be rented out from December 3rd – however, I still have some issues with the agent who is taking care of the rentals!
