Well things are certainly happening here in Thailand. New interim Government have been endorsed by the King and its full steam ahead for now. It will be interesting to see how things develop but my personal opinion is that the economy will continue to weaken and there may be some good opportunities in the coming 12 months.

I am still having diffiuclties obtaining my Investment visa here in THailand. I have lived here over 5 years and have paid substantial taxes. I have learnt the language and tried as best to integrate into THai society (which isnt easy to say the least).

I have already invested over 15 million baht in the last 2 years alone. I just went through my bank statement today. That is about 300,000 euros. Not a small amount of money at all!!

Anyway, on a positive note the immigration officers in Hua Hin are much more helpful than their counterparts in Bangkok. At least I am being treated as a human being and not just another number.

All the latest restrictions on foreigners living, working and investing in THailand is NOT good news for the economy. Add to that the emphasis the new Prime Minister is putting on self sufficiency – then you get a sense why so many foreigners are feeling uneasy here at the moment! Anyway, I should know my fate in the next week or so.

Moving on to more serious issues – what the hell is going on with Ireland? Stan should just go and John Delaney from the FAI should go too. He is the guy that picked him.Come on, can we not get a decent, experienced Manager? Why the need to act as a training ground for Managers? It is shamefull.

I suggest that all fans should boycott the home games. Take the money away from the FAI and get someone in there that is honest and knows what they are doing!

ON Wednesday morning I will be staying up late to watch Ireland take on the Czechs. It will be an interesting game.

Harrington had a great win recently too. He may even get the Order of Merit title. Fair play.

Still playing some golf myself and making some very small improvements. Need to get some more lessons soon. Actually, I am going to go to the driving range now…….
