Well as you all probably know, Thailand had a “bloodless” coup last week. IN fact it was something that I had been predicting for a few months. It was just surprising that it happened when it did and more inmportantly that it happened without any violence. That can only be as a result of the involvement of the King.

Actually, it is currently illegal to use any communication medium to criticise the new regime (military junta) but there have been a few small outbursts. ;

I am hoping that the temporary restraints that they have put on public speaking, demonstrations and general news will all be relaxed very shortly. Otherwise, things will not be going in the right direction. They are saying that they are doing all this for the good of the country and not for their own individual gain – well actions speak louder than words and they MUST install a civilian government asap and hold elections at the earliest opportunity.

All the events of the last week just go to confirm that there is never a dull day in Thailand. SOmething will happen every day that will shock and surprise you.SOmetimes its good – sometimes its bad but it makes life very interesting!

Over the last weekend I spent most of the time watching the Ryder Cup.It was a very special occasion and moved many a grown man to tears when Clarke won all his matches!The atmosphere was electric and watching him down a pint of Guinness in one was truelly Irish!

I am also suffering from a little FLu at the moment – the weather here isnt helping at all. Rainy season has already started and it lashes rain for a couple of hours every day! And when I say it lashes – i mean it lashes!!!

I am also working on getting this website up and running but first I have to do a little more research!

Thats all for now.
