Its been a little while since the last update but there is plenty going on!
All my stuff has been unloaded but I am still waiting to move into my brothers house. Apparantly I will be moving there on June 3rd so in the meantime I am still staying with Denis and Amela.
For the last week I have been staying with Dad and Helen in Kerry. The weather has been great but has just broken so there is some rain on the horizon! But to be honest the weather has been brilliant. The sun has been shining and temperartures are up in the early 20’s which is amazing for Ireland.
On the job front I am still looking but I am hopeful on a couple of fronts. Fingers crossed. I really want to get back into the swing of things and there is no better way than actually starting work. It is the key to me settling back into Ireland. The longer things go on without securing a proper job here the more likely I will be to return to Thailand. But that is not really my first choice at the moment.
Kerry and particularly Killorglin has changed drastically over the years. There has been huge development here and there is plenty of new houses and businesses. Things are looking up here but the number of drunks around town is alarming. No matter what time of the day you walk around town you are bound to bump into a drunk at some stage. It is sad to see.
The election is on! And Bertie is playing a stormer! All the talk is on his personal finances and somehow he is still managing to get away with it.
The teflon Taoiseach strikes again!
I still think that Bertie will not be back as Taoiseach and that Enda will be voted in. He is unproven but over the next few weeks I hope he shows that he is up for the job. It would appear that he is a genuine person and is willing to give it a good go. I think with Rabitte by his side they will make a good team. I do not like Bertie and I certainly do not like the BIFFO. His arrogance is too much to take.
There was great discussion on Stamp Duty during the last few weeks but I think it is a red herring. The main issue at the moment is the increasing interest rates and also the over inflated house prices. Some asking prices have dropped recently but I see this as a temporary drop. Once the political situation eases and the interest rates stabilise I think there will continue to be slow growth!
United have won the League but lost out on the European Front. I think their performance in Milan was well below par. THey were not even trying! Milan were good alright but United made them look better than they really were!
I think they can go on and do the double now and once they do Mourinho wont be able to hang on!
Mourinho will go from Chelsea and it will be interesting to see who takes over! Ericsson? Big Sam is out of a job too so he is in with a shout!
The snooker has been quiet and Doherty went out early! Pity!
No techie news to report at the moment except to say that I am reviewing Project Management methodologies like PRINCE 2
Had a few pints of proper Guinness in Kerry! Other than that things have been quiet! I really havent got back into the social scene in Ireland yet and I dont think I am missing much either. Now that I have my own car on the road I have more freedom but the fact that you cant have more than 1 pint limits the socialising with the car.
Instead I am left relying on Taxis and they are expensive and alusive!
Politics is taking front stage at the moment and Bertiegate is really a very interesting story to follow.
