Started my new job – I am officially a “newbie” and all the crap that comes with that
I spent the last weekend moving all my stuff from Denis’ house to Evan’s house. Unfortunately the weather was crap and I had to time my runs with the breaks in the rain! Great fun – NOT! Of course, it was a bank holiday weekend and on Tuesday morning the sun was shining!
It’s all a little surreal to be honest. It’s like a step back in time! Here I am moving into a “room” and sharing with other people. It’s like something I did years and years ago. It just feels like a step backwards.
But quite often you have to take one step backwards to take two steps forward! That is quite true from my own personal experiences!
The advantage of sharing is the company. It will take a while to get to know the others but so far so good. It’s not as if I don’t know them already so I am confident that I will settle in quickly! I have to say that anyway in case they are reading this!
My natural temptation is to look at the life I was living in Thailand and making comparisons. However, you cannot compare them – they are poles apart! As time goes by I think I will slowly reduce my comparisons with Thailand and eventually it will stop completely.
At that stage I will have settled properly or made the decision to leave Ireland again!
Fianna Fail are working on forming a government with the Greens, PD’s and some independents. Fine Gael have not given up hope yet. My predictions still stand!
In Thailand there has been some interesting developments recently with the announcement from the Constitution Court that Thai Rak Thai (TRT) and all its members will be banned from politics for 5 years. This is seen as a one sided decision and the Democrat Party appear to have got off lightly. It also makes it seem like a direct attack against TRT.
This decision could have huge implications for Thailand. It could stir up more resentment from TRT and Taksin supporters. It could also influence “others” who are just disillusioned by the performance of the Junta so far. It could mean that people will take to the streets again.
This is not good for business confidence and will have a negative impact on growth and future foreign investment.

No major sporting news to report on this week.

I need a new mobile phone!
I love my DOPOD 818Pro – it has been the best phone I have ever, ever had! All the time I invested in it as well worth it. The only problem I am having recently is that it seems to crash too regularly when I am on a phonecall. All other features work brilliant.
I need a new phone for work anyway and I will take this opportunity to upgrade!
It is a tough decision but one that I have to make very soon for business reasons!
Recently I have been using my bluetooth earpiece and it has worked brilliant. However, one major problem:
Today was my first day doing my own laundry for many many years! Yes, the earpiece went in the washing and is officially banjaxed! But I will get exactly the same plantronics model cause it was awesome!

Big event of the week was the joint party for Dad’s 65th and Amelas 30th! Great night had by all.
Also ended up having pints on Friday night – kind of like an initiation with my new house mates!

Life is full of cycles. Ups and downs. Ins and outs.
At the moment I am going through a deja vu! House sharing! It has great advantages but it feels so strange. After 6 years living life to the full on my own ( and with Nang) in Thailand it will take time to adjust.
I was used to my own space. I could fart, dance, walk naked or do pretty much anything I pleased within the confines of my own little (MASSIVE) house or condo! It was my space.
But now I am in a boxed room.
Boo hoo!
But – I WILL SURVIVE!
This is just a down cycle – and will mean that as I climb out of it I will start to realise how good the high cycles are!
